The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will launch today (April 2) the country's first information machine containing data
on hot or in-demand jobs and other relevant information and services for workers seeking employment locally and
overseas.

Labor and Employment Secretary Marianito D. Roque said the information portal dubbed the greater modular access (GMA)
jobs center or kiosk is housed in a touch screen web-enabled machine capable of displaying information on employment
opportunities and services for both local and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Roque said the first GMA Kiosk will be set up at Robinson's Place in Ermita, easily one of the most frequented malls in Manila,
adding that more Kiosks will be set up in other malls and public places such as local government offices and schools where
there is high human traffic.

He said the GMA Kiosk is primarily designed to operate in malls and public places as part of the DOLE's efforts to bring
employment services closer and accessible to "people on the go" particularly those actively seeking employment.

The kiosk is anchored on the Phil-Jobnet application containing information on local and overseas job vacancies, lists of
licensed local and overseas recruitment agencies, and job orders accredited by the Philippine Overseas Employment
Administration.
The Kiosks would also guide workers on the procedures in applying for overseas jobs and benefits from the Overseas
Workers Welfare Administration for OFWs who are bound for deployment abroad. Returning OFWs and their families may
also access information on available reintegration services through the kiosks.

Through the Kiosks, jobseekers may also register with the Phil-Jobnet to facilitate their search for jobs.

The kiosks would also contain Jobs Fair schedules and lists of skills registered in the Phil-Jobnet and workers certified by the
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
